Presentation of the Tactical Urban Map Hack workshop.
Traditionally, the mapping of territory has been an exclusive, closed activity, as a means of legitimizing and enforcing the hierarchy of governments and bureaucracies. This three-day workshop in the city of Rotterdam involves the public in artistic and activist web-cartography projects, participating in the creation of open urban mapping systems. Data from the city, delivered by the workshop participants, will be consolidated in an online digital map that will be displayed live during DEAF04 within the Mobile Cartographic Command Center (MC3), developed by Marc Tuters in collaboration with the Mobile Digital Commons Network (MDCN). The three-day workshop is associated with cartography projects by Christian Nold (D), Luka Frelih (SI), Aljosa Abrahamsberg (SI) and Ewen Chardronnet (F). participants:
Aljosa Abrahamsberg (SI), Christian Nold (GB), Luka Frelih (SI), Ewen Chardronnet (FR), Karlis Kalnins (LV), Marc Tuters (CA)
