Gavin Starks is an astrophysicist, webcasting innovator and electronic musician. He has worked at the Jodrell Bank Radio Observatory, one of the world's leading astrophysics centres, helped bring webcasting into the public domain and has composed for the past 15 years. His creative and experimental focus examines the fusion of culture, media and art with
astrophysics.

Among numerous projects, he has been involved in the Acoustic Space lab projects at the Irbene radio telescope in Latvia, the Makrolab mobile electronic media arts and science module in Scotland and a Nesta 'Digital Science' residency in education and Scientific Ethics. His music has been performed, and his research published, internationally.
