Electronic art festivals like Ars Electronica and ISEA are usually covered pretty nicely in various weblogs and other community websites. Some festival visitors are avid bloggers who like to report about their experiences at festivals; sometimes people even produce "live" reporting and comments about lectures at conferences.

The last few weeks, I've been looking around curiously whether the same would happen to DEAF. Agreed, the Dutch Electronic Art Festival is smaller in scale than some other media art events. But I did find a few blogs that brought some personally colored news on our activities at Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek. Here's a selection:

• Webmapper.net, a very interesting blog about mapping, cartography and technology, has mentioned a few events and people related to DEAF and cartography.
• The infamous Dutch weblog Retecool announced the DEAF04 opening and the ECHOHCE performance.
• networked_performance, Turbulence's blog on locative media, recently included a few entries on DEAF installations like M.U.S.H., n-Cha(n)t, Utopia Travel, Bitmirror, membrane and Run Motherfucker Run.
• mediaTIC blog (in French) writes about the "bloglike" character of the DEAF04 website.
  
• And Ablogger wrote a nice review of the second day of the DEAF04 symposium (in Dutch).
